Description

A Kindi is a type of pitcher, commonly found in old houses across India. The shape of a Kindi is very particular, and is characterized with a very narrow spout through which water can be poured out in a minimal trickle, to prevent wastage. It is commonly used in temples to dispense holy water and is also placed at the entrances of homes so visitors can wash their feet before entering the premises.
An unconventional find from Andhra Pradesh, this Kindi features the figure of Yali (a mythical creature, commonly seen in Hindu temples), carved on the spout. Made of copper, the old collectible has a dent on its base, but is otherwise in good condition.
