Description

The Marelli ‘Universale’ table fan, serial no. 2965920, is a sophisticated collectible fan with a gold coloured frame gracefully contrasting its black body. The fan was made in Italy during the 1920/30s for the English Electric Company and has been restored to working order.
Ercole Marelli was the first Italian ceiling fan manufacturer, starting in Milan in 1891 with the production of ‘electrical air agitators’. At the time, the most popular ceiling fans were usually American - known to be big and heavy. Marelli built a series of elegant alternating-current fans, which were lighter, more elegant, and most of all, convenient and practical for domestic use.
