  • ABOUT Dinkar Jadhav

Born in 1973 in a small village in Pune district, Maharashtra, Dinkar Jadhav received a General Diploma in Art in 1994 at the Abhinava Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune. The artist's constant source of inspiration is the natural world. He frequently paints horses and bulls, displaying a calming energy. Of the belief that abstraction is creativity, Dinkar’s artworks display patches of colour in blocks, geometrical forms and crisp angles. The play of light and shade are represented in his compositions, with the use of colour. Reds and blues are frequently used, lending a certain boldness to his work. Dinkar creates a crayon-like texture in his artworks with acrylic colours, adding to their uniqueness.

A professional artist since 1994, Dinkar Jadhav has held numerous group and solo shows across India, including his latest solo show at Jehangir Art Gallery in December 2017. He is a recipient of several awards, including a State Arts Award for Portrait Painting which he won in 1995. Jadhav lives and works in Pune.
